Radio Personality Big Boy Joins TBS’s Late-Night Talk Show LOPEZ TONIGHT As The Show Announcer

Big Boy, nationally syndicated radio host of the #1 rated morning show “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” is joining TBS’s late-night talk show LOPEZ TONIGHT as the show announcer.

“I said I want somebody BIG…nobody bigger or better to get a party started than Big Boy,” says host George Lopez.

“Big Boy is a radio icon and it’s a privilege to have him as part of the ‘Lopez Tonight’ family. He sounds good too,” added Robert Morton, Executive Producer of LOPEZ TONIGHT.

Big Boy grew up in Los Angeles, the second youngest of seven children. After college, he hooked up with the rap group Pharcyde and worked for them as a bodyguard, which opened the door to radio. At Power 106 Los Angeles, Big Boy has dominated the ratings in all of the timeslots he has occupied, including nights, afternoons and now mornings. His radio show has continued to grow and is now airing in nationwide syndication on Big Boy Radio Networks. The #1-rated morning show has led to industry recognition for Big Boy, who was named Personality of the Year four times at the Radio Music Awards and eight times by Radio and Records magazine. The National Association of Broadcasters has also recognized Big Boy’s exceptional talent with the Marconi Award which is the “Oscars of Radio” a very rare three times in 2002, 2004 and 2007.

TBS’s LOPEZ TONIGHT is one of the leading late-night talk shows with the youngest demographic audience with an average age of 32. Lopez and Robert Morton serve as the executive producers for the series, which is produced for TBS by 2.2 Productions, Panamort Television, paraMedia Inc and Telepictures Productions.

“Lopez Tonight” airs at midnight ET/PT and 11pm CT on TBS.
